A note from your hosts
Vesper is the name for the evening star, the first light that shows over the lake once the sun is gone. We built the cabin to watch it from: two charred-cedar gables, a wall of glass, and nothing between you and the water but the deck.
One booking at a time, so the dock, the sauna and the quiet are only ever yours. We live twenty minutes down the valley and we're one message away.

The spaces
Everything inside is low, warm and quiet: linen, oak, soapstone and charred cedar, with the lake in every room that matters.

A cedar hot tub on the deck, a sauna that's warm by dusk, and your own dock on still water.
A cedar hot tub steaming on the deck and a wood-fired sauna a few steps away. Fog rolls in; you stay put.

“We came for the hot tub and stayed for the fog. Watching the lake disappear and come back every morning from that bed is something we'll talk about for years.”
“The kitchen is better stocked than ours at home, and the note about the ridge trail was gold. We barely left the deck.”
“Quiet in a way the city never is. Canoe at dawn, sauna at dusk, a book by the stove in between.”
“Thoughtful down to the matches by the candles. Del answered every question within minutes, and we've already booked our return.”

Your hosts
Mara is a landscape architect and Del builds wooden boats. They sketched Vesper on the back of a ferry ticket and spent three summers building it with friends from the valley. They live twenty minutes away, keep the woodpile stacked and leave a loaf from the bakery in town on the counter for every arrival.
